Mediamax hosted links still dead

Mediamax promised that links to hosted files would still work after the re-branding of the site to The Linkup until December 2008. They are not.

At least the 404 file not found message that appeared with the dead links I've been checking has now been changed. The new message is:

---
MediaMax Hosted File

The file you requested is a MediaMax hosted file. We are presently moving MediaMax files to The Linkup and this file will be available when the process has been completed.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

---

Yeah, right. What's the betting this message will appear until December 2008?

No-one asked for this re-branding. It is the attempt of the company to escape its awful image and users once again have to pay the price and suffer the consequencies.

No-one asked for Mediamax to be shut down, so we have to use The Linkup system which is still in beta - and doesn't work, as many people here have noted.

Pretty quite on this blog. Has everyone finally just given up on MM?

I'm guessing so. I'm going to be quitting shortly myself. The service is but a shadow of what it once was.

It's a shame how they can take something that was once so good and turn it into a steaming pile of crap.

A while back I complained that I could not delete my credit card details. I went back for another look see today and found that they have changed it so that you can no longer see your own credit card details to try (and fail) to remove them.

All I get now is "Would you like to pay by PayPal or Credit Card" and the next screen takes you to a page to input details. Is this them trying to avoid flak or is it because my card expires shortly (but unfortunately not shortly enough to avoid me being charged again in the event that I can't unsubscribe...)

Also, how on earth do you change passwords with this damned TLU thing? I cannot seem to find a place to do it. Am I just being blind?

On a scale of 1 to 10 this company is a -50. They are unbelievably bad. I've had beta versions of beta software that worked better than this. I can't believe that the credit card companies are still
allowing MM to take credit card payments. I guess it goes to show how crooked the cc companies are too.

I would post this on my blog, but it's down right now.

It seems the official Linkup blog has now disabled comments - all the comments left complaining about their terrible service are now gone.
